When it comes to garage storage, pegboard has been the first choice for homeowners and retailers. Peghooks are inexpensive, strong, and can be found in any hardware store. But, when it comes to the peg board itself, it leaves a lot to be desired!!! Pegboard is difficult to hang, it needs additional framing to hold it away from the wall, requires a table saw to cut a straight line, and when you’re finished it looks kind of tacky!!! The downside, to top it all off, is that pegboard can not hold any significant amount of weight and only standard peghooks can fit into the holes. So with any tools that have any weight, or are unusual in shape, we quickly return to the two by four and nails, or there is the next solution, get a special bracket that is much stronger than nails. Yes, that does work, BUT the brackets get expensive, wall studs are never in the right spot, and nails are too short, too long, or not bent where it need to be to hold the tool safely… the list goes on!!!
